  • Sarah Cook, LCSW: Co-Director

Sarah is Co-Director of the Washington Baltimore Community for EFT (WBCEFT) and an ICEEFT- Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist (EFT) and Supervisor. Sarah is passionate about the EFT method– a humanistic model supported by research– and has witnessed the model effectively strengthen emotional bonds between partners to create more secure attachments. In addition to providing individual supervision to therapists, Sarah, together with Angela, has facilitated supervision groups for therapists learning and refining their EFT skills.

Sarah received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Asian Studies from the University of Virginia. She received her Masters in Social Work, with a concentration in Child Welfare, from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her Masters-level research focused on ethnic identity development in transracial adoptees. This interest stemmed from her personal journey as a biracial person, navigating her ethnic identity while straddling two cultures and with a blend of skin color. Sarah will graduate in April 2022 from the University of Michigan in the School of Social Work Sexual Health Certificate Program.

Sarah had formative experiences living and working in Japan and Vietnam and is culturally curious. Being a mother to two boys and two dogs has brought her lots of laughs, lots of anxieties, and lots of love.

Sarah is committed to anti-racist and LGBTQIA+ inclusive work, both professionally and personally. She warmly welcomes all people in all bodies to WBCEFT and her private practice located in Alexandria, VA.
